About
Junling Wang is a professional guzheng performer, and the third generation of the “Chao” guzheng style. She is also a member of China’s Henan Musician Association, The Art of Music Association, Chinese Orchestra Music Association and judge panel for The Instrumental Music Level Assessment Exam Association.
Junling Wang studied with her father, Chongrui Wang whose guzheng instructor was the Master of Guzheng – Mr. Dongfu Chao. She also studied with guzheng masters – Chao, Guifun, Liang, Yifu and Zhao, Manqin (the creator of the special “super speed” guzheng finger technique). Concentrated in classical but merged with modern performance techniques, Wang creates a style of her own.
National & International Awards
– Won 2nd place at China Central Art Departments for “New Artist New Art”
– Performed and competed with 40 students in the National Miner’s Art Festival music competition and won 1st place
– The only winner with 2 titles at the Henan music competition–Bai Chuan Cup–1st place of the solo performance section and 1st place of the trio section.
National Performances
– Performed at First Session of Chinese National Music Concert
– Performed at Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall Summer Culture and Art Performance several times.
– Live performance at Channel 13 in New York.
International Performances
– Various performances at the Central TV and aired nationally in China, including Wang’s performance with her students in Henan Has A Music Palace and was aired various times nationally in China
– Performed at the World Cultural Art Festival with jazz group in Italy
– Traveled with Chinese music group Music From China of New York to England and performed live at BBC and aired internationally in Europe
